What are the early commitment dinners?

We are holding three Early Commitment dinners/lunch on February 21 and 22. Anyone interested in making an early commitment to the campaign is welcome to attend. Generally speaking we are expecting that  leaders of the church who currently are holding offices, former leaders of the church, members of the Administrative Board, community leaders who are church members, and long time members of the church to attend. There will be two announcements in church in early February and the first Mission Possible newsletter that has already been mailed contains an open invitation to all members who are interested. Why are we raising money again?

The new land and building cost approximately 25.9 million. The first two debt retirement campaigns raised all but approximately 9.2 million which must be paid. When we occupied the new building in November 2004, it was apparent that a third capital campaign would be needed because of the differential between the anticipated funds available and the cost of the approved project, which was completed $40,000 under budget.

Are we running the church efficiently?

We have under spent the budget the last two years and have reduced the budget the last two years. Of those savings, $230,000 is being paid in January on the debt.

Who decides where the money goes?

All budgets are approved by the Administrative Board.
